Mungkin salah satu tujuan utama memiliki CRV RD1 adalah karena kemampuannya untuk menjelajahi medan off road ringan - sedang. Seperti yang di promosikan oleh Honda pada awal awal rilis CRV Gen 1 ini adalah sebagai kendaraan rekreasi keluarga.

Honda Enthusiast mana yang belum pernah mendengar nama Mugen? Mugen adalah anak perusahaan Honda yang men khususkan diri pada performance part dan body kit untuk mobil Honda.

Setelah mencari sekian lama, akhirnya saya menemukan foto lengkap katalog Body Kit Mugen untuk Honda CRV RD1. Body kit ini dipasarkan pada tahun 1996 di Jepang, sebelum RD1 mulai menjajah tanah Australia dan Amerika.

Air radiator sering berkurang - indikasi Water pump melemah

Beberapa minggu yang lalu ada rekan yang post di Group FB CRV Gen 1, beliau melakukan pergantian water pump. Mungkin hal ini agak sedikit luput dari perhatian kita semua, padahal water pump adalah salah satu komponen yang paling kritikal dalam menjaga suhu mesin.

Adapun indikasi nya:
1. Air radiator sering berkurang
2. Ada tetesan air di dek bawah sebelah kiri (dibawah bangku penumpang)

DIY Repair: Honda CRV Gen 1 (RD1) Ignition System

Back in April 2013 during my routine weekly DIY checkup, my V suddenly stops. This happens when I tried to clean the Throttle Body Intake using Soft99 Carburetor & Injector Cleaner, at first I suspect some residue from the cleaner clogged in the Injector Nozzle or in the Intake Manifold. But after further checking I found out that there are no sparks coming from all the Sparks Plug Wire.

Indication: If I rev my car to high RPM the gas seems to be hampered

So there are 2 possibilities..
1. My Distributor
2. My Ignition Coil

After trying to bypass directly from the coil there still no sparks, then I conclude that the ignition coil is dead

The OEM coil is not available in my nearest part shop, I only manage to find an exact type 3rd party product by the brand LKS (which cost me around $15)

After putting the coil back inside the ignition system.. starts the car.. take a little spin on the block and the problem solved..

PS: Please make sure you detach the battery first just to make sure there are no current on the wires

Koil ini identik dengan koil yang digunakan oleh Honda Civic Genio / Estilo atau Accord Cielo di Indonesia. Koil LKS saya beli dengan harga Rp.150.000 dan saat ini sudah memasuki bulan ke 7 pemakaian dan masih cukup normal.

Indikasi awal adalah gas terasa sedikit brebet saat di gas RPM tinggi dan cepat.

Proses penggantian koil cukup mudah dan tidak memakan waktu lama, hanya pastikan saat membongkar distributor cap kabel dari battere / aki sudah terlepas.

As you can see from this video, that is exactly how one Honda CRV driver's trip to the 'Ring ended recently. Coming out of the famous Eiskurve—which translates to Ice Corner for reasons demonstrated here—at a high rate of speed the SUV loses it and the resulting crash must be seen to be believed.P

According to the Youtube description of this video the driver and passenger of this Honda were doing "relatively good" after the crash, which is a little hard to believe after watching this unbelievable video. Who would have thought the combination of a CRV and one of the most infamous race tracks in the world would end badly?
